Binmaga Cultural Experience is a 100% Aboriginal owned and opertated business and represents the combined talents and passions of partners, Candice Dia and Preston Wall. Driven by a desire to share Yamaji Culture and promote their hometown of Mullewa, the couple formed Binmaga in 2021 after recognising a gap in the local cultural tourism industry, with no on-country cultural experiences in a town with 90% indigenous population.
Candice and Preston hope to turn that around and showcase local culture through tourism and performance.
Candice is a proud Yamaji Woman of the Yinggarda Nation and lives in Mullewa with her Partner Preston Wall and their 3 children. She studied at WAAPA through the Aboriginal Theatre Program in 2009. Candice has performed in many local and regional events with former dance group Pundara where she and dear friend / mentor Janine Oxenham founded the group. She now is a dance mentor and continues her creative works with BINMAGA Dance.
Preston is a Badimaya Wadjarri Man from Mullewa / Yalgoo who is passionate about the youth, culture, his country and making positive changes. Preston has lived most his life in and around Mullewa and is a proud Yamaji man. Having played football at an elite level in the WAFL for East Fremantle and represented WA in AFL under 16 and under 18, Preston currently works as a sport and recreation officer coordinating sports and dance programs in Mullewa.
